Trowbridge Town Hall

MADD were commissioned in June 2019 to carry out a feasibility study to develop outline proposals for the restoration and extension of Trowbridge Town Hall to form the basis of a funding application to the Future High Streets Fund.

Trowbridge Town Hall has enormous potential to become a focal point for the community as well as a thriving centre of activity on the high street. Unlocking the building plan will enable to offer spaces for community events, live music, arts festivals, meetings, weddings, cinema, live music, theatre, youth clubs, business support, training and education. The proposals included internal alterations to enlarge the foyer and cafe spaces, a new rear extension to provide wheelchair accessibility to all floors, conversion of existing rooms into performance spaces. Proposals also included the re-introduction of the Grand Hall as a 500 seat performance venue, enlarged toilet and kitchen facilities, external signage and new building services. The funding application was successful in receiving £16 million in January 2021
